What is the difference between manual therapy and physiotherapy?
Manual therapy is a specialisation within physiotherapy. A manual therapist has completed additional training in examining and treating joints and the spine with specific manipulations and mobilisation techniques.
Is manual therapy painful?
Manual therapy does not have to be painful. You may feel some pressure or tension during treatment, but the therapist always works within your comfort zone and communicates clearly.
How quickly will I notice results?
Many patients notice improvement in mobility and pain reduction after the first session. The number of sessions needed depends on the nature and duration of your complaints.
Is manual therapy covered by insurance?
Manual therapy may be covered through your supplementary insurance, just like regular physiotherapy. Not all packages include physiotherapy. We work with all Dutch health insurers.
